I noticed another man nearby staring at me for a while before that happened, so I just went with it.

We talked like old friends for a minute and  then walked away together, after turning the corner he quietly said..  that guy kept watching you, i didn’t think you were safe.

He left right after making sure I got into my ride. I never got his name.

I still think about that moment sometimes and wonder what could’ve happened if he didn’t step in.
