The letter uncovered family secrets I had never imagined. My mother revealed that she had quietly amassed her own fortune through investments and a business she had started in her youth – a jewelry company that had flourished overseas. She wrote about a bank account in my name, full of assets she had saved for me. Instructions on how to access it were detailed meticulously. I was overwhelmed by the revelation, my emotions a whirlwind of gratitude, disbelief, and relief.
